Heavy-Duty Metal-Clad Doors for Data Centres in Sydney | Radiant Enterprise

Heavy-Duty Metal-Clad Doors for Data Centres in Sydney | Radiant Enterprise

Data centres require specialised solutions for security, durability, and performance. At Radiant Enterprise, we manufacture large, heavy, custom metal-clad doors that meet these demanding standards. Over the years, we have supplied projects across Sydney, including AirTrunk SYD1 and SYD2, Microsoft SYD05 and SYD06, and Amazon Echidna SYD57. These doors are designed to provide maximum protection, robustness, and functionality for critical infrastructure.

What makes Radiant Enterprise metal-clad doors ideal for data centres?

Radiant Enterprise specialises in producing heavy-duty metal-clad doors tailored to the needs of data centres. Unlike standard doors, which are typically clad in 0.5 mm steel, our data centre doors are wrapped in 1.5 mm steel, offering significantly higher strength and impact resistance. Each door is custom manufactured to accommodate the size, weight, and security requirements of the facility.

Our doors are engineered to handle high-traffic environments while maintaining tight tolerances and smooth operation. The combination of solid construction, precision engineering, and steel cladding ensures that these doors provide both physical security and long-term durability.

How are these doors constructed?

Each Radiant Enterprise data centre door features a solid core, reinforced with solid timber edge rails. The core is then finished with Plywood facing, depending on project specifications. This combination creates a rigid, stable door capable of supporting the heavy 1.5 mm steel cladding.

We also supply steel jambs that are engineered to support the weight of the doors and ensure proper alignment, smooth operation, and durability. The entire door and frame system is designed to work together seamlessly, reducing maintenance needs and improving long-term performance.

Can these doors meet acoustic or fire requirements?

While primarily designed for strength and security, our solid-core metal-clad doors can also be adapted for acoustic or fire-rated applications if required. The density of the core, combined with precision seals and steel cladding, contributes to a level of sound reduction that may be suitable for specific data centre zones. Fire-rated options can also be supplied depending on the project requirements.

Why are custom doors necessary for data centres?

Data centres often feature oversized openings, specialised security requirements, and complex mechanical and electrical integration. Standard doors cannot meet these specifications. Radiant Enterprise custom-manufactures each door to ensure:

  • The correct size and weight for large openings
  • Compatibility with steel jambs and structural requirements
  • Integration with electronic locking systems, access control, and fire systems
  • Compliance with safety and building codes

Custom manufacturing also allows us to produce doors that can withstand environmental challenges such as frequent operation, high humidity, and the rigorous demands of a 24/7 facility.

What recent data centre projects have Radiant Enterprise supplied?

Radiant Enterprise has extensive experience supplying heavy-duty metal-clad doors to some of Sydney’s leading data centres:

  • Air Trunk SYD1 and SYD2 – Large hyperscale facilities requiring high-strength security doors with oversized openings.
  • Microsoft SYD05 and SYD06 – Custom metal-clad doors installed with steel jambs to meet operational and security requirements.
  • Amazon Echidna SYD57 – Oversized heavy doors clad in 1.5 mm steel, designed to withstand high-frequency operation and provide enhanced security.

These projects showcase our ability to deliver tailored solutions for some of the most critical and demanding facilities in the region.
